Vaal Sailing Centre is situated at Lake Deneys Yacht Club (LDYC) in Deneysville Vaaldam.     The centre is an approved sailing school with South African Sailing (SAS) and International Sailing Federation (ISAF) accreditation.

The Centre is headed up by Austin Daly who is a qualified SAS Level 2 Senior coach and the centre has three SAS qualified Level 1 coaches and two SAS qualified Assistant coaches.

Sail training is available on Dinghies – mainly for kids and juniors, on catamarans and keelboats for juniors and adults, from absolute beginners to an advanced level and SAS certificates are awarded for each phase.    Juniors progress through five levels of competence with a view to progressing to competition stage.    Adults progress through two stages – Competent Crew and Inland Skipper on craft under 9M.

Boats are provided and the sailing centre in on the grounds of LDYC which has full clubhouse facilities, including accommodation options.  www.ldyc.co.za  Courses are generally held over weekends but weekday training can be arranged for school groups and youth camps are held three times each year
